Annual meeting at the Mekong Restaurant on Harvey near Gordon.
Guest Speaker - Roger Ball invited John Harland to speak. He spoke on Capstans. Mr. Harland has recently written a book Capstans and he has addressed the Canadian Society of Nautical Research recently in Vancouver, on the same subject. It "wound" up being very interesting.

Hosted by Opal and Jim Cooper at there lake shore home on Skaha Lake. Rob, Bruce and Bruce brought their boats. Everyone brought food.
Bruce Middleton (the person in charge of this club) threw out a kedge anchor without tying the business end to anything - very entertaining

April 27th was the date we arranged for the first General Meeting of the year. 30 adults came to the meeting and we all had a really good time. There was lots to eat, Pizza, KFC, Pop and Coffee, plus salads ad lib. The day started out with rain, but by meeting time the weatherman had decided to co-operate and we had sun and warm air. Andrew gave a wonderful tour of his boatworks and gave a short history on each of the boats in his yard, how the boats were made by that particular company, and as far as he knew them, personal histories of each boat. Unfortunately our guest speaker lost her voice and was unable to come, perhaps in the future she will be with us. A short general meeting was held afterwards, out in the sun, and we updated everyone on what the local Society has been doing, also about progress on this year's boat show. We all appreciated Andrew's hospitality, the use of his home and the tour of his boatworks, also the chance to visit with each other.
